MRS Golf Day
28 Oct 2011
What was forecasted to be a rainy day on 28 October 2011 in Witbank, turned out to be a beautiful sunshine day with golfers streaming in from as far as Marble Hall, Pretoria and Johannesburg to attend the annual M.R.S Scrap Holdings CC Golf Day in aid of Point of Difference Charity Foundation.
Business partners and father and son team, Mr Faan and Stephan Mynhardt, owners of M.R.S Scrap Holdings CC started the noble tradition of hosting an annual golf day in aid of a charity in 2010. In 2010 they also approached Adele Mynhardt and Adele Segal (known as Adele&Adele), founding members of Point of Difference Charity Foundation, to be the beneficiaries of this successful golf day.
A total of 114 golfers attended and participated in this year’s golf day, contributing to the phenomenal success of this event. There was also no shortage of famous faces as the likes of Jaco Labuschagne (singer), Izak Davel (actor/singer), Neil Somers (singer), Lourens Bezuidenhout (drummer for Mean Mr.
Mustard) and Jakkie Louw (singer) were spotted among the golfers.
After a hard day of golfing, guests and sponsors were entertained by the talented trio of Jaco Labuschagne, Jakkie Louw and Neil Somers during the post-game event. After the prize-giving ceremony, an auction was held to raise funds for Point of Difference where after the dance floor was opened. The evening ended on a high note when a cheque of R48 608.85 was handed over to Adele&Adele from Point Of Difference by M.R.S Scrap Holdings CC.
Adele&Adele would like to thank Mr Faan and Stephan Mynhardt for opening their hearts and appointing Point of Difference as the beneficiary of their venture.
